   Last year I grew two plants in my backyard here in Austin, TX and they produced large beautiful flowers for me. Sadly, this year it has been too hot and although the plants grew (very tall and very sturdy) the little buds never opened. I’m hoping for a early fall show, but not sure the plants will hold on that long. Thanks so much for sharing these amazing images you took. Dahlia’s are truly on of my favorite flowers.

   Sadly Dahlia’s seem to be consumed by slugs here and then they have to be dug up for the winter, started indoors in spring and planted outside again in the summer. They are beautiful flowers though. Long sleeves on Ben and a jacket on you..hmmmmmm I know why I love San Francisco (weather)

   These are lovely!! I wish I could come to SF and visit the flowers – someday I’ll get there – I have family in Palo Alto…plus I could say HI! to you! 🙂 Now off to look at flowers around my neighborhood! – with my camera in hand! Looking forward to the next photography class!

    Dahlias are my absolute favorite! They were my wedding flowers. I wish we could buy them in floral shops here in the midwest, but you have to special order them. I’ll have to put that park on my life list.

    My husband and I went to SF for the first time last year. I love photographing botanicals, and I had a heart attack when I saw the Dahlia Garden. So gorgeous!!
