Never a big fan of beets myself (candied…yikes!). Those really scare me. I didn’t know beets could get that big. Were they genetically modified??? 🙂

I adore beets (especially roasted). But those are not “very large beets”– those are ginormous beets! I’ve never seen anything like that. What would Tom Robbins say? . . .

If you think those are big, you all should come to Alaska. We grow them even bigger up here and they aren’t genetically modified…just lots of light! Ohhh…i can’t wait for spring.

My favorite beet memory is scarfing up all of the bowls of canned beets that my classmates refused to eat at lunchtime in our Catholic school cafeteria. (It didn’t help that the lunch ladies were trying to pass them off as ‘dessert.’) I do love me some beets!
