The photos above are of my sister and her husband Matthew who are expecting a little boy in the next few weeks. I will be an aunt soon! and that is very exciting.
Happy day to all of you. I know that Mother’s Day can mean different things to different people. It’s not always the easiest day on the calendar for some, and I want to honor those of you who have a difficult time with this holiday. Blessings to all of the moms, the moms to be, and the moms of spirit we are surrounded by.
Oh my god Caroline is really pregnant. Look at those photos. She looks great. Please tell her I said hello.

Thank you, Andrea! I received a beeeeautiful necklace in tropical shades from my super-husband and kids today. I love it… thank you.
This is a mixed-up day for me. I am so touched to be celebrated by my Lovelies, but I deeply miss my own mother, who I lost almost 4 years ago.
I celebrate the Mother Spirit in you, dear lady.
fondly,
Jen
Thoughts with you….
Thank you Andrea! Beautiful photo, beautiful sister!
Oh, your sister looks like a goddess–loved and ripe and very, very happy! What a gorgeous pregnancy.
Today I had a message on my machine from my dear artist friend who is a wonderful mother. She couldn’t stop raving about her Superhero tangerine bracelet and earrings! She said the beads were lovely, and the orange was fabulous against her eyes. She told me all the women in her family want ones now … ! 🙂
Thank you Andrea, for the happy beauty of your jewelry, and I hope your day was as meaningful as mine was!
OMG – those pictures are gorgeous, Andrea! Your sister looks lovely.
Thanks Andrea,
It can indeed be a tricky day for some…so true. In Germany for me Mother’s Day is still to come on the 12th, as always. It is for me and my mom and this year I feel a little different about it and have the feeling that something is going to change for the better if even only for a teeny bit. It was always the most burdened day for me and I hated it but am trying to change that and we will see how it goes. I will wear my superhero necklace especially on that day for sure!! 😉

by the way… who is older? you or your sister? are you the only two siblings?
You have such a talent for capturing pure happiness on people’s faces. I’m always so stuck by that in the portraits you take. That’s a true gift.
wink wink i’d never know she was your sister! love the buddha belly — it’s the one time in a woman’s life we can enjoy our roundness! methinks that’s gonna be your pic i’m seeing with a buddha belly in the next year or bit….happy mother’s day to you!
Your sister is beautiful!! I am going to be a Auntie for the 1st time in July, I am psyched!! Thank goodness my husband has siblings, since I am a only child I would never have neices or nephews on my side of the family!
She is sooo beautiful with her radiant buddah belly!!!
Hey, we have the same name!
Pregnant women always look so beautiful.
You are going to be an awesome auntie. Take lots of pictures 🙂
So she married a matt too! how blessed you both are, and thank you for including all in this day as everyone’s affected by it in so many ways, and not just on this one day…
Yes, Happy Mother’s Day to all. Andrea, I think I remember that you and your sister married very close together…it’ll be nice to be able to raise children together (and you will raise children together….
To have you for an aunt–what a blessed child!
Congratulations to your sister. And being an Aunt is one of the most treasured things that has happened to me.
I want to thank you for writing such insightful thoughts. Each and every entry you make has such thoughtfulness and insight that I am just so always amazed.
Considering those who might have a hard day on Mother’s day made me realize that there are so many who just breeze through that day like it’s just another holiday to celebrate. This will be my 6th mother’s day without mine and it is not easy. Ever. I do however celebrate. I celebrate my mom Pat, and her unique way of making the world around her bright and energized. She was an amazing artist, friend and mom to me. The world has seemed just a bit flat since she’s been gone, that is for sure. But I get through it all remembering her and her wonderful spirit.
Andrea, you actually remind me a lot of her and again I just want to thank you so much for being who you are!
(okay enough of the gushing…) Can’t wait to hear all your Auntie stories!
