(via Laura)

Maggie Doyne is part of the superhero community and I wanted you all to know her. Her story is amazing and I encourage you to follow along as she continues to tell it.

Hi, I’m Andrea

On this blog you’ll be learning with me how to use our voices, share our creative superpowers and live life in full color.

As an artist, photographer, life coach + mentor, I’m redefining what it means to be a SUPERHERO — ‘cause in my world, it’s got nothing to do with capes, spandex or sidekicks and everything to do with tenderness, intuition & baby steps of bravery.

Wow. Thank you so much for the inspiration. Both videos touched my heart in different ways. At this tender time in my life, it is good to see a world of possibility. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

    Andrea,
I have both following both Amy and Maggie for a while. What two women undertook from their strident hearts and enormous spirits are testimonies to what each reader and lurker in your auspicious audience can accomplish in a moment, in a day or in a year. If. they. act. from. their. heart. I promise right now and writing this here that I will do one gesture for the next 30 days that makes a day brighter for another person via my neighborhood or on a global scale. I invite your readers to participate as well.

Oh great, crying now. Wow, this new generation is so vastly different than any other previously. So wise, so giving, so giving of real action and service. How awake you all are. And how beautiful.

Thank you, Andrea, for posting this link to Maggie’s inspiring story and work. I have just got home from the European Summit for Global Transformation ( http://www.promisefortheworld.com ) in Rotterdam (Netherlands). The people I met there are up for transforming the world and making a difference, one small step at a time, just like Maggie. I’d like to invite Maggie to share her story at next year’s Summit meeting.
I also want to acknowledge you for what you share on your blog. I have been reading your blog regularly now for some years. Through you I have discovered wonderful, talented, creative, inspiring people (most of all you), poems that have made me weep and my spirit soar, your fabulous photographs, your beautiful son, and exquisite, hand-crafted gifts.
Wishing you and your family a fabulous holiday and an even more wonderful 2009.
    Thank you !
    Cheryl (in Brussels, Belgium)

This is a fantastic post. The art video is great, and Maggie’s story is so wonderful and completely what I imagine doing. I am happy it has been done! Thank you for sharing this.

I avoided these for a few days. I think I was afraid there might be a lesson to hear or see or something that I wasn’t really ready to know. I’m so glad I finally sat down and pressed play! WOW!!!!!!!!!
The top one is my mind almost all the time! Why make my work? Does it matter? But I love it. BUt should I do that? etc……
and the bottom one – I have felt like I needed to start a non profit for years and have never done it. It’s amazing to see these two video’s side by side. And yet again – I’m not surprised that it’s YOU who posted these together. You are an incredible being too right along side of them! And so are we all – we just don’t always recognize it in ourselves….still working on it.

I haven’t watched the art video yet, but Maggie Doyne is an extraordinary woman. I have not heard of blinknow, but just finished reading Three Cups of Tea, which is a somewhat similar story of helping children in the most remote, war-torn areas. I feel that people like Maggie and Greg Mortenson (from Three Cups of Tea) are such exemplary people. They are today’s heroes, and role models for all of us.
