As part of our Mondo Beyondo course, we suggest doing something we call a clearing. It is a way to create space in your life (both physically and mentally) for new dreams to find their way in. Clearings are such a powerful step to take, especially for those dreams that have no clear path, no easy action steps to take. In the spirit of the clearing, I have decided to do a long-awaited garage sale tomorrow morning. (If you’re in Berkeley, come on by!)

Boy, does this speak to me! For the last 10 years I’ve been living a nomadic life after my divorce. Trying to keep pictures and momentos for my son’s scrapbook along the way — saying “I’ll have this done before he’s 18”. Well, he’s turning 18 this February and I haven’t even started!! Oh the shame! I’ve been carrying my life around in these plastic containers that are scattered about in either my apartment or the storage unit that I’m dying to get rid of because its so expensive!! And don’t even get me started with the 3 to 5 sizes of wardrobe in the closets that haven’t seen the light of day since I don’t know when………HELP ME LEONIE !!!

For almost 2 years I have been tripping over myself trying to figure what I need to do to get closer to my dream goals. The kicker? There must be something in the air because I just started doing a “spring cleaning” to clear out all the crap that has collected in my home. I’ve got a couple more days to go but I can already feel the energy lifting in my place.
Funny how the old, stagnant stuff can be hard to let go of just because it’s familiar.
Here’s to letting go of the old and no longer useful, and welcoming in the new and exciting.

I used FlyLady.net to declutter and kept my place company-ready for almost a year and then I broke up the man I thought I was going to marry, got bronchitis, the flu, and just this past week– a staph infection and shingles.
My matchbox-sized, 300 sq ft apartment needs to be a jewelry studio, a home office, and a home. It’s a disaster right now and boy do I need some serious, mind-altering changes and soon. I don’t want to date, but am starting a new business (or two) and need my space to be awesome, peaceful, and serviceable.

I put the whore in hoarding! I am turning into a hoarding special on TLC! Ok, so I have a small orange room that could be an art studio in my house but it became a carry all and turned into a storage room, I cannot even open the door without art supplies falling on my head, you cannot even walk through the room! An eyesore! An embarassment! Whenever we don;t know what to do with somehting, it goes in the orange room. It is filled floor to ceiling with art supplies and junk. I would love some guidance on how to do a clearing away at the space, how to step by step let go of the stuff. I would like to make a useable , liveable working art studio. I would like to donate many art supplies to children and teachers if I can just get them out of this room and do a space clearing! I am imagining having an actual orange art studio where I could make art! And relax and breathe into it! I would like to make art in that orange room with the children in my life. Maybe put a little desk in there and some fairy lights, make it into somehting that breathes and has life instead of junky stagnation! I want this magic for my little house. My name is Chris and I am a hoarder. I want to let it go!

Having had to clean out homes after my paternal grandfather and then maternal grandmother passed away, I know how much energy can be sucked up by the piles of stuff, yet I still find myself gathering piles of my own. I cycle through cleaning and decluttering, but having someone outside of the home to work with would be awesome. 🙂
It is very hard to believe that I lost almost everything I owned a few years ago in Hurricane Katrina, even the house(talk about natural cleaning). How did I get all this stuff again so quickly?
