thunder hail

Writing this from a crazy hail storm, thunder storm with lightning and the works. Thunder hail! It’s exciting (and a little scary) and Ben was especially impressed. We stuck a Mason jar outside and collected little pellets of hail for him to inspect. It feels like a magical night.

It reminds me of a song Matt sometimes sings to Ben:
Would you like to swing on a star?
Carry moonbeams home in a jar
And be better off than you are
Or would you rather be a …..
(fill in the name of an animal)

I’m feeling grateful for warmth and shelter right now. Grateful for my spider man tucked away in bed.

We had thunder hail up in Seattle just yesterday – the hail was pea sized and we collected it too. My kiddo even requested that we save it by putting it in the freezer, next to the ice cream. Have a cozy evening!

When we can actively appreciate warmth, shelter, and other things like that – isn’t it beautiful? What would it be like to feel that appreciation every day?

I love the feeling of being safe indoors while there is a storm outside- especially when its raining hard and I can sit inside by the window and read.

Oh he’s such a little boy now. I keep expecting a toddler. It all happens so fast doesn’t it. There’s nothing sweeter than a little boy.

There is so much relief in tucking your child into bed at the end of the day. Just stay there forever. Stay little. Be right where I tucked you, under the covers.

That’s fair enough for mortgage payments. But does RPI not take into account those who buy houses outright (or indeed the outright component of most mortgage sales)?

The worst barbarity of war is that it forces men collectively to commit acts against which individually they would revolt with their whole being.

Let us not forget that Reagan’s future vp (Bush) and cia chief (Casey) met with the Ayatolla Khomeini behind the back of the then-current Carter administration (treason) and arranged for Iran to keep the American hostages until after the election. In return Iran got, at the very least, a conduit thru which to illegally receive missiles and other armaments–which came to light when traitor Ollie North got busted taking the missile $$$ and giving it to friends in Central America who turned out, naturally enough, to be drug smugglers USA-bound. Ah, the good old days…
