good friend*

Been waiting for the words to come and not finding them these days! So I offer a photo today, of my dear friend and writing teacher Laurie Wagner. It’s a been a week of little sleep, overwhelm and spontaneous tears. The kind when if anyone asks you sincerely, “How are you doing, really?” you break down.

And so I landed at Laurie’s doorstep yesterday morning, ready for us to have a workday together and instead cried and drank tea. Thank god for good friends.

Hang in there….I’ve been feeling a bit tender myself. (I actually cried while trying to find just the ride shade of lipstick.) I’m glad you have good friends to support and love you- it makes all the difference. I wish you a good night’s sleep….

Sometimes crying and drinking tea are the best remedy for what’s ailing you. Or at least they can put you on the path towards whatever is meant to come next. The tea waters you and your tears water the path you are meant to be on.

Thanks for being so open and vulnerable here with us about what these days have been like for you. We all have those days, but precious few of us, myself included, take the risk of making it known publicly. That’s yet another reason why you are such a superhero to so many of us.

Peace be with you, dear Andrea. Thru the tears and sadness and feeling overwhelmed.

Oh, Andrea, I hope things get easier for you soon.

This is a lovely photo. She looks as though she has taken some of the weight for you and is happy to do so.

Who is the man photobombing her down by her knee?

Andrea – I wish I lived closer so I could come over and offer you a hug. I think I was in that same place last week. I’m hoping the tea and company hit the spot. It happens to all of us. That I know for sure. xoxoxox *c

Andrea! You have NO idea how much I needed to hear this from someone in the same boat! Noah just turned one yesterday (I was so weepy, hurt by others I should not have had any expectations of and sleep deprived)! I feel all at once grateful beyond words and also, well, much the way you described yourself here. I’m glad you have this beautiful friend who was able to be there for you.

I’ve had a rough week too. Had myself a couple of good down and dirty cries. Being a mom of 2 kiddos is kicking my booty….plus, all the other stuff…. I’m feeling hopeful today, though. The dark clouds are parting…phew! Wishing you a great weekend!! Lots of love, ~ M.
