I just returned from the holiday in Florida and I’m kicking into high gear for holiday jewelry production. I may be posting more images than words in the coming weeks. For now I will let you do the talking. A little game below…

My favorite questions:

What is the most alive choice? {inspired by the wonderful writer SARK}
How can this be easy?

Apply these questions to anything troubling you and see what emerges…

My most alive choice was to care for my mother as she died. I know that it sounds sad and tragic, but really, helping her go through the process of dying and gicing her the love and nurturing that she had always given to me was the most honoring, spiritual, important, ALIVE thing I’ve ever done.
There really was no choice, I just knew it was what I wanted and needed to do. It was an opportunity to be the best of who I am and to give of myself in a way I never have before.
It wasn’t EASY to do, but it was easy to CHOOSE to do it. Easy to choose every day to care for her with love and kindness.
And for me it was the time in my life when I was most MYSELF – most alive, most grounded, most present, and amidst my sadness the most happy and at peace.
    love.

Completely random question, Andrea, but are you going to post another of your wonderful “gift guides” this year? You always find the most unique gift ideas and I look forward to it every year!

    perfect!

Fabulous… as usual! Just what I needed to have this morning. I notice I don’t always choose the most alive choice. Even that is helping me to choose differently. hmmm… alive choices and easy… yes! Thank you! -m

    Sweet questions.

huhm. This is a brilliant question (what is the most alive choice) and one I probably need to consider as I contemplate major change in my life. Thanks for this post…Andrea, I’m going to blogroll you at my site, ok?
    Thanks,
    Felic

Wow!! What a fabulous question to ponder! Sometimes for me, the most alive choice is just showing up and being present in my life that day… I will be mulling this one over a bit more, as I am contemplating making some major life changes in the coming new year. Thanks for jump starting my thought process today! 🙂

    i must be a real spaz, because i don’t understand the question… sorry… *blush*

I agree with Karen. On another note… You sound a bit swamped and exhausted in your last few posts…. so I hope you take some you time and refresh and recharge – the holidays can be draining instead of filling if we are not careful. But back to me agreeing with Karen – I love and look foward to your gift guides every year. I was just thinking about them recently. And Mondo Beyondo comes at this time of year too in Andrea world…. if i’m remembering right….
And wonderful questions by the way. I FINALLY quit my horrible depressing job after 6 months, and phew, that was the most alive choice.
    Rest up….. take care…..

i’m contemplating that one. it’s quite zen if you think about it, i mean to be zen is to be in the moment, to be in the moment is to be alive or not, but when are we really alive in a moment? is it a spark we feel or a tingle? a huge great smile because no matter what we are content, or maybe that warm fuzzy that tells us we are here right now and no where else. I haven’t had those feelings for a while, I’m too distant because I am never “here”. Got a lot of stuff going on, would like to just let go and be alive and in the moment.
this is something great to think about, kind of like a fortune cookie but missing lotto numbers or cool words translated into chinese…
    ciao ciao
PS hope you had a great time in FL, that’s where I live and we had great weather for Thanksgiving!!

    Andrea,
Brought a smile to my face yet another time. My most alive choice is ‘just being me’. Missed your posts during the brief break( yes, of course, I am greedy and that is ‘being me’ too)
    Thank you again!
    :).

    Great pic!
I’ll need some time to think about the question. It’s a good one!

Serendipity someone else I know mentioned making live choices…. I’m still pondering it!

As I’m making my list of goals for 2006, this is a great question to think about. Thanks!

Great question and thanks for inspiring me to get my butt into high gear and get holiday gifts made! As for the question, I think for me at the moment it’s turning off the evil television and making some art. Thanks!

Very thought provoking questions. You are such an inspiring and beautiful writer.

my most alive choice these past two days has actually been not to let go, but to hold on. to learn self-disipline and restraint when it comes to my relationship and what i say and do to my partner. my most alive moment was friday night/saturday morning when i realized how to love someone else. that it’s not about how he makes me happy, but what i can do to make him happier. it’s funny how a shift in thinking can change your whole perspective and how you live your life. most most alive choice was choosing not to focus on MY happiness but making myself happy by making others feel special. it’s made a world of difference. and strangely it’s the easier choice of the two.
