The other morning Matt walked into my office and caught me talking to myself.
I blushed hard, mid-sentence, only then realizing that in my daily work-from-home-alone life I probably do a lot of chatting to yours truly.
The funny thing about it was that I was saying to myself, “You’re doing great! You’re doing great!”
It’s nice to know that in my private moments, there are still kind voices in my head.
Or maybe I’m just practicing for parenting.
You have the best blog ever! Reading a new entry is like opening a present. (Waiting for The Journey Part Two …)
Of course, it is all your blog readers’ voices that you are hearing.. you are doing great and how nicely you have introduced the power of positive reinforcement as the best tool out there.
xo! and all the best!
Oh, I wish I could be so nice to myself! This is a great reminder that positive self talk is possible. Sending you big hugs!
and you ARE doing great, dear one! You’ll be a wonderful mother…
you are the CUTEST!
🙂
Oh yeah girl prepare yourself for a LOT of talking weird shit out loud when your a mum…
I think Matt was supposed to walk in on you speaking to yourself so you could see how positive you really are. I think we forget a lot to be nice to ourselves and to allow ourselves to realize we aren’t so bad after all. I am glad you see how wonderful you are, we all sure see it.
XOXO

hi i happy that the i was think what do we do to help others
I think that’s awesome, although would you mind enlightening us as to what it was you were telling yourself you were doing great on?
My phrase is usually, ” Awh yeah – you are good, you are good” followed by a little hand clap.
Oh course this is done when I am alone. I haven’t been caught yet.
What a fabulous picture…and a fabulous attitude! That is very good practice for parenting 🙂 The next step is babbling various sounds and simple one syllable words…then working your way up naming the objects in your office over and over again for several hours 🙂
hahaha… this is cute, the blushing? so cute , you are cute, you are doing great! great! great! 🙂
Perfect! You’ve already achieved what most seeking people are after – You know (and agree with) God’s Thoughts. Can’t you just hear Him cheering you on? You are giving voice to Spirit’s absolute Love & Support.
Perfect.
That is lovely. I hope that is catchy, I could do with some of that around here!
If you treat your little one with as much respect as that you are sure to raise a child who loves herself.

Yes, you’ll need lots of those kind words in your parenting, for your child and yourself. Love the photo.
Aaaah, so GREAT, Andrea …! I LOVE those special moments when the child inside you is taking over …
Had a funny singing & dancing lesson in the studio myself today … listening to Marillions’ “misplaced childhood” (… chickened out on the other side of the room … DH couldn’t see me getting wild when coming home earlier than expected *blush*)
i have only just started reading your blog. but now i am addicted to it, and have started at the beginning.
you’re approach to life is simply WOW!
congratulations on getting pregnant!
all the best,
Marsha
Andrea…I have found that talking to oneself is the essence of truly great mental health. It’s the ones who don’t carry on those internal dialogs out loud that have to worry…. And yes, it’s probably really good practice for all those things you will say as a parent. I talk more to myself now, than before I had my daughter. Keep on with those kind and wonderful voices in your head. 🙂
Your voice is “kind”… BIG hearted, and peaceful too.
You make me *smile*
