The first sighting of the waffle. It elicited oooohhhs and aaahhhs and screeches of varying volumes.
Nico then resorted to begging. This approach seemed to work fairly well.
After taking his first few steps last week, Nico seemed to have forgotten all about walking. But inspired by his good luck with the waffle, he walked away, straight for the Zbars! his next conquest.
When that didn’t work, he resorted to the telephone. An old favorite.
If you’re wondering who dressed him, it was either Ben or Matt. I take no credit for the psychedelic shorts and tie dye onesie combo.
Pure cuteness. Thanks for sharing, Andrea.
Have a beautiful Monday,
Julia
mmmm waffles. i love them too. ten million times more than pancakes.
personally i am a big fan of the onsie over the shorts. easy access? 🙂
I have many fond and funny memories of Pearl and waffles (aka “waffos”). You’ll appreciate this: http://jasongood.net/365/2011/08/day-215-approximately-3-minutes-inside-the-head-of-my-2-year-old/

I did it. I dressed him in that outfit and snapped the onesie over the shorts. And I’d do it again!
At our house they are “wapoops” and the waffle iron is “the big owie.”
I think I must have once said to not touch the iron or he would get an owie. You just never know what will stick in their minds!
Those chubby little bow legs going for the clif bars is too much cuteness for my heart to stand!
Nico’s eyes are stunning and I don’t blame him one bit, waffles will get me off the couch too.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this post! So cute!!
Hello, I have a quick question for you about your site. If you could please get back to me at your earliest convenience I would greatly appreciate it. Have a great day!

Hi Andrea,
I have long adored your site, your wonderful family and your photography. Today I am adoring your couch! Would you tell me where you got it? What brand? Is it velvet? I’ve been looking for one just like it. Please do tell. Thanks! Julian
It was actually a handmedown from my sis over 10 years ago!
Those photos are GREAT!
Great post. I could eat the three of you up…you are adorable and yummylicious!!
For some reason I love that dirty fingernail in the first photo!! A life well lived, maybe??
great big sigh of remembrance over here in western north Carolina (did you hear it?)…. So fast, it all happens so so fast.
Have a pin made (bright and earnest colors) that says “my daddy dressed me today”. And when the time comes, another that says “I dressed myself today”. Hell, sometimes I need to wear one myself! what a big seller those would be (hmmmmm….. wheels creaking into motion here)….
I continue to fall into love with very REAL you, miss A. Stay that way….x
Love this! So adorable … and fun.
Helpful information. Lucky me I discovered your web site accidentally, and I am shocked why this twist of fate did not took place earlier! I bookmarked it.
