When I took the above photo I said, “Let me take a photo! You’re going to want to remember this day forever!”

He replied, “Yeah, cuz it’s the best day of my whole life!”

It is so true that our children’s joy is our joy. Still soaking it up over here as I go through photos…

Oh my! How sweet is that. We were able to sled with my nephews this winter and took some video. I loved hearing their screams of pure joy as they were soaring down the hill. Priceless.

Ah snow!!! Having grown up in Canada I’ve had the pleasure (and often the misfortune) of growing up with snow all around me for many months of the year. Over my travels though I have seen people see snow for the first time (South Africans, Australians, Mexicans…). What a joy it is to see their face when they touch snow for the first time. I could only imagine a little boy’s excitement!!! So precious!

You are so right that our children’s joy is our joy. Thanks for putting it so succinctly! We went on a cruise vacation with the kids (and grandma) in December and while I said at the outset that it was “our” vacation (as in, the adults) and we were just bringing the kids along for the ride, in the end we ended up building our days around activities for the kids and I realized that it wasn’t just for the sake of entertaining them… that was how *I* wanted to be entertained. *I* wanted to derive my vacation joy from watching them have fun and doing things that made them happy. It made me happy. Their joy was my joy. Funny how that works.
