A Spring Clearing*

This is the last photo I took before my camera went kaput! The shutter closed and never opened again, and I have to admit, because I am superstitious, my first thought was, Even camera knows I need to take a break…

And so I will.

To heal (I have been sick for a month and a half now)
To write (Jen Lemen and I have a whopper of a good thing in store for you)
and to create space for something new to be born.

I have been in clearing mode lately, cleaning the house, selling off everything I can, moving to a different studio space, simplifying my schedule… all because I feel so strongly that something new is trying to emerge.

But I am not leaving you high and dry. No way… You are in for a treat. There will be a series of guest bloggers here, super inspiring friends of mine who have a lot of talent and wisdom to share. I have chosen the theme of spring clearing for them to muse on. I love the idea of creating space for new dreams, new adventures and new joys to find us when we create space for them.

May you find lots of peace on your break. It’s courageous thing to do.

  2. Enyasi

Good for you… I used to ignore the universe when it was trying to tell me something… but when I listen, amazing things happen…. I hope your break exceeds your expectations and your dreams.

Can’t wait for the whopper of a good thing – I’m in and I don’t even know what it is. Keep on clearing!

  4. Laura

As someone who is also in the midst of a lot of cleaning out to get ready for something new, I can thoroughly appreciate your decision. Enjoy this time – and I hope it brings inspiration and direction! 🙂

Andrea, feel better! Excited to see new stuff. Just a thought on being sick and feeling better: KOMBUCHA TEA. Has amazing powers and I have not gotten sick in a year almost. I used to get sick quite a lot.

  6. celisa

i have been doing exactly the same thing! you wouldn’t believe how much i’ve gotten rid of. i feel like i need to make room to grow. i have put a hold on making jewelry for now, and i’m painting, taking photos, exploring what else is out there.
good luck with your “time off” and can’t wait to hear about what you discover!

Good for you!! Something is stirring in me too…it’s been rustling around for some time now. My Nia classes have helped loosen it up a bit. 🙂 I hope it presents itself soon. xoxo ~ M.

    Enjoy your break!!
I know well the need of a break — and the virtue of it as well.
You were a big part of me making the most out of my first real break – and the work you did with me helped me to take the next break when I still wasn’t quite ready for the next thing.
I have been meaning to send you an email — to thank you and let you know that I am getting ready to start my next big thing in a few months: I am moving to New Mexico to start a graduate program.
I will be here on the other side of your break, excited to read your next thing.
    Take good care of yourself!

Andrea, thank you. You have inspired me to let my big change come as it needs to. There have been so many messages from the universe telling me that it is coming and here you are reinforcing it as well. Let’s all heal and retreat for the time we need and come back in greater force when the time comes. After six weeks of battling an ear infection I can hear again, just today, so with all that is coming I am now able to hear too. Be well.
    Annie

  17. Steph

Aaahh, I wish you everything your body, mind and soul desire on your retreat. I will miss you here, but look forward to hearing all about your new projects when you come back.
    Warm wishes to you.

  18. Michelle Andre

Woo Hoo! That rocks! And remember…you don’t have to be “producing”… please go drink a pina colada for Pete’s Sake! xo!

  19. Sheila

Oh my gosh… I feel it too. To my bones, I feel the need to change everything about my life and get rid of everything old because something new, big and wonderful is about to happen. To you. To me. To us.
Go, enjoy, and we’ll catch you on the other side.
    xoxo,
    Sheila

  20. Jennifer

I am wishing you the best as you take time for yourself. Much needed and much deserved my dear.
Thank you for inspiring me and reminding me that it is needed, to slow down and take a break.

  21. Belinda

You’re a complete trooper, and deserve a ‘break’ more than anyone. I, for one, will still be here if and when you decide to return 🙂
I’m also in the middle of clearing out parts of my old life – both material and spiritual. I’m trying to break free of old habits, old comforts, old ways of thinking, and instead embracing new directions, creating new diversions and trying to enrich my life by breaking out into the hopeful unknown a little more.
I can’t wait to see how your journey will progress as well.

  22. shawn

I love that you are able to listen and hear and figure out what is trying to emerge…how delightful to be in tune with your SELF…that is a gift indeed. when you get back – i’d love to hear how you figured out how to listen and let bloom….

  23. jenn

I always find the actual act of spring cleaning clears space for new things in my spiritual life. Good for you for listening and doing what you need!

  24. Beth

Bless you as you heal and prepare for something new!

  25. Kim

ohh no… and I just found your lovely blog a week ago!
Well never mind, it will just give me something to look forward to!
Take care of yourself! 🙂 – Kim

all the best for the healing! Take it slowly…

hope you are feeling ore like yourself soon, and i can wait to see what is unfolding for you!

Hmm..I love when even our cameras send us messages. I was on a trip a while ago when my camera stopped working. I took it as a sign that the trip was not meant to be captured on film, but enjoyed even more in my heart.
Love the topic of spring cleaning. I feel a bout of that coming on myself. I’m in the midst of moving from FT employee to FT life coach and student. I think the call is for me to leave the FT job sooner rather than later. I’m not really worried about the economy/money thing, but it’s just a huge change. I’ve been here 7+ years at this company. But…I know something amazing is waiting to move into an empty space. Cheers!

Ah, you are thoughtful. I’m taking a break but I didn’t warn anybody, or send in guest bloggers to cover for me. I just sort of….disappeared….

  31. Sarah-Ji

I tried to take a break by going to my archives to find photos to post, but I’ve found that it’s much more time consuming to try to make up my mind on which one to pick!
Take care of every part of yourself, and I hope your time of rest fills you up to the brim with all that you need.
    xoxo
